RE: My New-To-Me Genny (Questions)

I have a coleman as well, I just built a 4 sided box for it and when its running i put the open side away from my TT and aim it at the bush. You can also aim it at next campsite if they have made too much noise for you earlier (kidding). Just make sure that there is plenty of air circulation and your freebie will be worth more than you paid for it.

RE: End of another season.....most memorable experience.....

Every year we take as many of the kids that are well enough to go out for a days fishing from the Make-A-Wish program. This year was especialy fantastic because 2 kids that have been coming for the past few years FINALLY caught their first fish. One little gal in a wheelchair caught her first fish and it was her first time out. We set up the night before with huge tents and an ambulance on stand-by (which we have never used there services, knock on wood), all of us that participate open our trailers up incase any kids need a place to rest or get out of the sun. It is one rewarding weekend for all in attendance, the fishing rods are donated from confiscated rods of poachers, through the conservation department. This year the renewable reasources department donated 300 spruce trees which were planted in the kids honor around the private lake on the farm. I have pics on my web site if anyone would like to see them.

RE: Winterizing mistake - wrong antifreeze

Spending $10 for the correct stuff shouldnt be a delemma.......its worth the peace of mind to know its done correctly and safely. Flush as much as you can to get rid of the old stuff then when you think its safe, flush once more. You can take a sample after the winter to a local university to get tested, or a water treatment center. Good luck and I hope this helps.

RE: After 2 years of research, I'm still lost

Just go rent one and see if it meets your needs and find out any dislikes and go from there. That will narrow all your concerns.

RE: The trailer came in handy yesterday

The water main broke at a neighbours place so they shut the water off for our block, the DW quickly filled up the TT and we had water for showers, flush toilets and coffee while the rest of the block scrambled to find a source of water. They took two days to restore our water.

Veranda by Country Coach

Have you seen the new "Veranda" MC by Country Coach? I recieved my copy of RVwest and was totaly surprised by the thought and design. You can probably google the parent company for specs, the magazine has some good pictures of it but little on info ie; price, weight and interior after closed.

RE: Keeping TT level during the winter???

I lower the front just enough to let water/snow run off and i dont put down the stabilizers just incase a tire goes low and puts too much strain on the stabalizers.

RE: Umbilical has split at truck connection

You can buy plugs attached to a length of wire ready to be spliced in at most RV stores......just cut the existing plug off and splice in the new one leaving some extra length so it wont happen again. Make sure that the colour of wires matches eg; yellow to yellow red to red. Use electrical tape on each individual wire and then on the main wire to keep rain and water out. If you have access to heat shrink rubber conectors they are the best.

RE: Stupid things we have seen....

I saw a fellow backing his TT into a tightish spot and when he realized he didnt have enough room he got out and removed the site marker posts on his site and the site accross the road to make enough room. He struggled getting them out then after he was in his spot the campground warden came over and told him he was in the wrong spot and had to move....he was in the tenting side of the campground. We were behind him waiting to get to our camp site. Yes he did put the posts back but you could see his wife wasnt very happy at all.

RE: Age of Campers

Welcome to the forum ! With practice anything can be done properly. Take your time and you will do fine. Never rush on your first few trips, it will only add to the confusion. Try taking a few "closer to home" trips with the TT, it will help familiarize yourself with what you are doing and how to do it correctly. Dont be afraid to ask any questions here.....someone will know the answer. We started camping when we were young and have kept up the tadition with our family Good Luck
